The Answer are supposed to be touring with Black Stone Cherry late November and December. It is still being advertised as such in the music press, but if like Helen, you buy tickets to see the Answer, you will be wasting your time, as they will be touring with AC/DC instead. And I doubt very much if there will be any money back on tickets.

lots of rumours flying around that the original members of Mott the Hoople will be reforming .... is this a good thing? I will declare my interest i love Mott and Mr 'Unter still releases excellent albums to this day but will they just shatter illusions in reforming ... my eldest brother saw them in Dunstable on the Dudes tour in 1972 .... still would get tickets tho lol

Tribute Bands - Good or Evil?

I've started an argument (of sorts) on another forum on the subject of tribute bands. My opinion is that there are far too many tribute bands on the gig circuit in Britain, and the sheer number of them mean it's harder for bands playing original music (such as Breathing Space) to get gigs. I've accused tribute bands of pandering to lazy audiences who don't want to listen to anything new.

A few people strongly disagreed with me; a member of a Marillion tribute band...

I have just heard that the Nanci Griffith gig I am going to to at the Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth the support act will be the rather wonderful Edwina Hayes ... it was thanks to a support slot with BS that I first heard Edwina ... this will be a rather nice night I think (except going with the in laws )
