You always regret not seeing a band, for some reason you never get to one of their gigs and then all of a sudden they split up - who do you miss not seeing:

For me it must be Yes. This may yet come to be, all the best to Mr Anderson (a local lad done good) for his full recovery.

Rainbow. I got into them too late for the classic Dio lineup, but never saw them with Bonnet, Joe Lynn Turner or the later version with Doogie White.
More recently, and closer to home, the "Delicate Flame/Strange Behaviour" lineup of Karnataka. |

Never did get to see Emerson, Lake and Palmer, have since seen all the individual members on solo tours but would have loved to have seen the as a band. Not
much likelyhood of it ever happening in the future as they dont really talk to each other these days!

I'll have to think hard... I saw all the ones everyone else has listed except the Clash, I think! Yes countless times, ELP 3 times, Rainbow a fair few
(best when they had THE rainbow!)

I actually did manage to see Yes at the MEN Arena in 2004, when they had Rick Wakeman with them for once. Don't know how it compared with their 70s heyday,
but it was good - the acoustic version of "Owner of a Lonely Heart" with Rick on grand piano was interesting.

I would like to have seen Van Halen in their heyday, which for me is DLR years. Not that I don't like Sammy Hagar, just prefer Diamond Dave. I know
they've recently gotten back together, but he's just not as supple as he once was!

Still struggling... If you count different incaranations as different bands then probably the ORIGINAL King Crimson (Greg Lake era), the original Nice (I saw
the recent partial re-union though) and the original Atomic Rooster with Carl Palmer etc... (So I like ELP !!). Perhaps original Ten Years After.

I never saw Deep Purple .... and fear I would be disappointed to see the re-united line up now.

I've seen four versions of Deep Purple and the current line up is as good as any as far as I'm concerned.
The band I regret not seeing live is Pink Floyd. I was never fussed, as to me they were an "album band" and I thought they would be a bit sterile live. Then I saw them at the Live 8 thing on telly and got goosepimples... |

and I agree with you David that this latest line up of Deep Purple is as good as any live since Gillan left the first time back in the early 70s

Of course would have loved to have seen Hawkwind doing Space Ritual ..... and of course the wonderful Pink Fairies too (if they ever do get it together and do
their reunion show I will try to be there)

Number one for me would have to be Floyd with Roger Waters. I've seen Floyd numerous times since the split (and Roger solo), but seeing them together would
have been something very special.
Also: Led Zeppelin, Genesis (prior to Steve Hackett's departure), Cocteau Twins, XTC... |

Cream would have been good.
I'd have liked to have seen the mk 1 Deep Purple (pre-Gillan) - I think I've seen most of the other versions at some time or another. And "real" Genesis in the early 70s. I saw the Milton Keynes re-union but it was very wet all day and the sound wasn't good and they were specks in the distance... "We don't need to know the answers to hope and pray for peace" |

Oooooh! A few that I have never seen that I sooooooo wish I had - Queen & Thin Lizzy (Lynott/Gorham/Robertson line-up) are probably the top of my list.
